Low Calorie Diets
Losing Body Fat
For the past couple of years, I've had a desk job that kept me pretty much sedentary for eight or more hours daily. One of the adverse effects of sitting for so long is that I steadily started gaining weight, and got up to where I was 15 pounds heavier
than when I first started the job. Not wanting my weight issues to get even more out of hand, I joined a gym a few months ago and have been going three times per week. Unfortunately, exercise alone isn't helping shed those pounds as fast as I'd like, so I've recently been searching for a good low calorie diet to follow.

I'm not the kind of person to get caught up in the latest fads, so I'm not interested in the South Beach or Atkins diet plans. Similarly, I actually like to eat real food, so weight loss programs based on soups, shakes, or other liquids are not my tinhg. Instead, I want an easy-to-follow low calorie diet that is both healthy and satisfying. Surely there's something like that out there?

I've been checking for low calorie diets online, and have been completely overwhelmed by all the information I've come across. There are so many different weight loss programs out there that it's hard to narrow down the choices unless you already know exactly what you're looking for. For example, a few folks may wish to detoxify their bodies first, and therefore choose various cleansing diets that can last anywhere from one day to a week. Some people might want to follow a vegetarian plan in an effort to get rid of unwanted body fat, while others want a more inclusive program that limits portions rather than food choices. Having a general idea of what kind of low calorie diets would work best for your lifestyle and food preferences will greatly speed up the selection process.

After narrowing down my choices a bit, I settled on two different low calorie diets that I'd like to try. I found these diet plans on special weight loss websites that also offered a variety of free tools to help with all of my goals. For example, there's a database that lists the caloric content of hundreds of common foods so I can figure out exactly how many calories I'm consuming even if there's no nutrition label to refer to. In addition, there are free online food journals to record my daily intake on, and message forums where I can chat about low calorie diets with others.

I know that losing weight is going to be an uphill battle, but healthy low calorie diets combined with continued trips to the gym should help me lose the extra 15 pounds I've been carrying around for the last few years. I can't wait to see the new me that will emerge!
